The Indian Plumbing association(IPA) Nashik Chapter celebrated World Plumbing Day and IPA’s Founders Day with a well-organized seminar at the Gurudakshina Auditorium, Nashik. The event attracted over 200delegates from respected associations such as ACCE, FSAI, IIID, BAI, CREDAI, and other allied organizations. The theme for the seminar, “Challenges and Solutions for Subsoil Drainage”, provided a platform for experts to discuss the latest innovations and sustainable solutions in drainage systems. The seminar was designed to address critical issues and explore ways to enhance the effectiveness of subsoil drainage in modern infrastructure.
During his address, Vikram Khairnar, Chairman of IPA Nashik Chapter, provided an overview of the various activities conducted by the chapter over the past year. He highlighted the chapter’s commitment to improving plumbing standards and sustainability. In his speech, Khairnar emphasized the importance of water conservation and urged all delegates to take proactive measures in adopting water-saving practices, to help ensure a sustainable future.
The Chief Guest Mahendra Nakil (Retd. Superintending Engineer), emphasized the need for expanding the scope of plumbing beyond buildings to areas such as dams, canals, wetlands, and irrigation systems. He highlighted the importance of incorporating modern technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, to support the development of multi-story buildings and large-scale plumbing projects.
The seminar also featured Pallavi Dangi as the esteemed Guest Speaker, who delivered an insightful session on “Challenges & Solutions in Subsoil Drainage.” Her presentation focused on the critical issues faced in the field of plumbing engineering, particularly related to subsoil drainage systems. Dangi highlighted the complexities of managing drainage in urban and rural landscapes, the environmental challenges associated with poor drainage systems, and the technological advancements aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability. She also discussed innovative solutions and best practices that can be adopted to overcome these challenges
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of Milind Shete, NEC Member, for winning the prestigious World Plumbing Scholarship. This honor recognized his excellence in plumbing and his exceptional dedication as Chairman of the IPA Nashik Chapter for over a decade. His journey was meticulously detailed by Dr. Sunil Kute through a PowerPoint presentation. Shete was felicitated in the presence of the Chief Guest,Mahendra Nakil, and all the Executive Committee members of IPA NC.
Additionally, the IPA Nashik Activity Calendar was released, which outlines IPA’s local, national, and international events, along with the birthdays of IPA NC members.
Special efforts were made by the IPA Nashik Chapter team, including Chairman Vikram Khairnar, Vice President Jayant Hinge, Secretary Anil Argade, NEC member Milind Shete & Chinmay Deshpande, Joint Secretary Somnath Kshirsagar, Treasurer Ghanshyam Badgujar, and members Balasaheb Wakchaure, Anita Borade, Sunil Kute, and Vivek Wagh, who contributed significantly to the success of the event.
