Education is the most powerful weapon which can change the world for better. It shapes one’s personality and beliefs while propagating invaluable skills and knowledge. Epiroc Mining India Limited has been a constant advocate of women empowerment fueled by education and has taken various initiatives under its Vidya Sahayog Program. This program attempts to contribute towards providing certain financial assistance to students in the form of scholarships, infrastructure development of school, college or hostel.
Having an adequate and well equipped learning environment is very crucial for students to excel and advance towards their goals. Epiroc Mining recently lent some support to Sarvahara Parivartan Kendra, an NGO working for the upliftment and education of Tribal (Adivasi) children, by installing a solar energy system, drinking water system and furniture at the Adivasi Girls’ Hostel. This humble support to enhance the hostel infrastructure will help in creating a better environment for the girls to study.
“We are very grateful for this thoughtful initiative by Epiroc. This is definitely a huge help in enabling better conditions for the tribal students and I hope more and more organizations come forward with such programs to support women empowerment and education.” – Vaidaraj Naik, Managing Trustee Sarvahara Parivartan Kendra
“Handing over the facility was indeed a proud moment for us. We at Epiroc are very passionate to do our part no matter how big or small in ensuring a proper environment for children to study. Both these projects were our humble attempts in making this happen and we would like to thank Sarvahara Parivartan Kendra and Avishkar Shikshan Sanstha team for their immense support and cooperation.” – Dhanaji Puri, CSR Officer- Epiroc Mining India Limited
