Passion for heritage- Ashok Pujari

We Indians are contributing in many ways to conserve our heritage. Few of them do contribute by way of explaining and guiding the tourist about this heritage.

The world-famous Caves Ajanta and Ellora near Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra are miracles. It took years to complete those caves. But the questions like why the caves were made? who made it? what was the story behind? And many more….! And such questions can be correctly answered by a tourist guide.

A Tourist Guide is not only an Entrepreneur but is a goodwill messenger who explains our history and culture in a studied manner to Domestic and International Travelers. As a tourist guide, Ashok Pujari witnessed a transformation in the overall scenario. THE TRANSFORMATION is in the up-gradation of infrastructure but the curiosity about the heritage remains unchanged. Moreover, as the year passes he has seen there is increase in the curiosity, attraction, and number of visitors.

Veteran Ashok Pujari from Aurangabad, Worships his job as a tourist guide since the last 5 Decades. He is approved and authorized by Archeological Survey of India (ASI) Recalling his journey of the last 5 decades, Ashok Pujari believes, these Caves, Sculptures, and Painting are like his family members with them he had to spend many years of his life. He believes, because of his attachment and involvement the sculptures and paintings talk with him. Today at the age of 75, his journey still continues.

Every Sculpture in Ellora and Every Painting in Ajanta is connected with our rich mythological culture and it should be conveyed to tourists in an appropriate manner.

Ashok Pujari remarks

A well-explained tourist recommends others to visit. Ajanta and Ellora Caves which help in generating trade and employment opportunities further added.

Today, thousands of tourists visit these places around the year. The efforts and contribution of Tourist Guides to narrate the glory can not be ignored.
